Smile Bright: 5 Dental Tips from Casa

National Dental Care Month 2025



1. Brush Twice a Day

Brush your teeth for at least two minutes each morning and night with a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Don’t forget your tongue!


2. Floss Daily

Flossing removes food and plaque from between teeth where brushes can’t reach. It is recommended that you floss daily to help prevent cavities and gum disease.


3. Avoid Sugary Foods and Drinks

Sugar feeds bacteria in the mouth, leading to decay. Drink water instead of soda, and limit sticky snacks like candy or dried fruit.


4. Don’t Skip Your Dental Visits

Routine cleanings and exams can catch problems early. If you’re uninsured or behind on care, free clinics like Casa may be able to help.


5. Know the Signs of Trouble

Bleeding gums, bad breath, or tooth pain are signs that something’s wrong. Don’t wait—get it checked out as soon as possible.
