Houston Methodist Provides $100,000 in Lab Services to Casa El Buen Samaritano

Access to quality health care should never be out of reach. Thanks to Houston Methodist’s Community Benefits Grant Program, patients at Casa El Buen Samaritano will receive $100,000 in covered lab services in 2025, ensuring essential diagnostic testing remains available at no cost.

A Commitment to Expanding Health Care Access

Houston Methodist recently announced $10 million in grants and services to 30 local nonprofit organizations, supporting more than 59,000 individuals across the Greater Houston area. By covering lab services for Casa patients, this partnership removes financial barriers that often prevent early detection and management of chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.

Since its inception more than 30 years ago, the Community Benefits Grant Program has provided nearly $185 million in funding and services to 83 unique Houston-area nonprofits, strengthening access to medical and mental health care for uninsured and underinsured individuals.

The Impact on Patients

Routine lab work plays a crucial role in identifying health concerns before they become critical. With this generous support, Casa continues to provide diagnostic testing, preventive screenings, and chronic disease management—giving patients the answers and care they need.

A Heartfelt Thank You

Houston Methodist’s commitment to community health makes a lasting impact. By investing in medical access for those most in need, they ensure thousands of individuals receive lifesaving care.
